Forensic Psychiatry - Criminal Matters

When sending us your requests, please ensure you provide:

  • Client name

  • Issue for assessment - pre-sentence, MI, fitness etc.

  • Location - if custody, which prison and their CRN

  • Time-frame and any flexibility for adjournment

  • Name and contact details of solicitor

Medico-legal report writing and expert evidence provision in criminal matters of:

  • Fitness to stand trial

  • Mental impairment defences

  • Pre-sentence mitigation

  • Risk assessment (violence, sexual offending, stalking)

    There is some capacity for VLA-funded matters

 

Forensic Psychiatry - Civil Matters

Medico-legal report writing and expert evidence provision in civil matters of:

  • Medical negligence / standards of care

  • Historical sexual abuse

  • Probate / testamentary and general capacity

  • Family court matters - psychiatric assessments for parents (no family reports)

  • General (or secondary) psychiatric opinion for clinical application e.g. DVA, NDIA, Centrelink, road authority

A Masterclass on Medicolegal Risk for Psychiatrists :
Learn the skills required to reduce your exposure to medicolegal risk as a Psychiatrist, whether your work is in the public or the private sector.
